The distributed ledger engineer builds systems on permissioned or enterprise ledger platforms, where the participants are known and the requirements come from business processes rather than open networks. The work involves chaincode or equivalent, network configuration, identity management and integration with existing enterprise systems, and it usually sits inside a regulated environment.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop chaincode or smart contracts for permissioned ledger platforms
• Configure ledger networks, channels and access policies
• Implement identity and certificate management for network participants
• Integrate ledger systems with existing enterprise applications
• Design data models balancing privacy against shared verification
• Build APIs and services exposing ledger functionality
• Support deployment across participant organizations
• Test consensus, endorsement and failure behavior
• Document network configuration and operational procedures
• Support production operation and troubleshooting

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years of software engineering including distributed ledger work
• Experience with Hyperledger Fabric, Corda or a comparable platform
• Strong Go, Java or Kotlin depending on the platform
• Understanding of endorsement policies, channels and privacy models
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems
• Knowledge of public key infrastructure and identity management
• Ability to work within regulated change control processes
• Clear technical documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial services or supply chain domain experience
