The Hyperledger developer builds applications on the Hyperledger family of permissioned ledger frameworks, most often Fabric. The work covers chaincode, network configuration, identity and the client applications that transact against the network. It is enterprise software delivery with an unusual consensus and privacy model underneath, and most of the difficulty lies in the configuration rather than the code.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and test chaincode in Go, Java or Node.js
- Configure Fabric networks including channels, organizations and policies
- Implement endorsement policies appropriate to the business process
- Manage certificate authorities and participant identity
- Build client applications using the Fabric SDK
- Design private data collections where confidentiality requires them
- Support network deployment across participating organizations
- Troubleshoot endorsement, ordering and commit failures
- Integrate ledger data with reporting and enterprise systems
- Document network topology and operational procedures
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
Required Skills and Experience
- 2+ years developing on Hyperledger Fabric or a comparable framework
- Strong Go, Java or Node.js
- Understanding of Fabric architecture including peers, orderers and channels
- Experience with endorsement policies and private data collections
- Knowledge of certificate authorities and identity management
- Experience with containerised deployment
- Ability to debug distributed transaction failures
- Clear documentation practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Hyperledger certification
- Experience with multi organization network deployment
