The Move developer builds on chains using the Move language, primarily Aptos and Sui. Move was designed specifically for digital assets, and its resource model prevents whole categories of bug that plague other contract languages, which changes how the code is structured. Developers coming from Solidity need to genuinely relearn the model rather than translate patterns across.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop smart contracts and modules in Move
• Design resource types and ownership models correctly
• Write unit and integration tests for module behavior
• Use the Move prover or formal specification where appropriate
• Optimize for gas and storage on the target chain
• Build client integrations and software development kits
• Prepare modules for audit and address findings
• Deploy and upgrade modules following chain specific procedures

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience

Required Skills and Experience

• 2+ years of smart contract development with meaningful Move experience
• Understanding of the Move resource model and its guarantees
• Experience with Aptos or Sui and their differing object models
• Strong testing practice
• Familiarity with Rust, since much of the surrounding tooling uses it
• Understanding of what Move prevents and what it does not
• Experience preparing code for audit
• Verifiable deployed work
