Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Extract, analyze and interpret clinical and operational data
  • Build reports and dashboards for clinical and management use

  • Analyze quality, utilization and outcome metrics
  • Support regulatory and quality program reporting
  • Investigate data quality issues and their impact on conclusions

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, statistics, data analytics or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of data analysis in a healthcare setting
  • Strong SQL and experience with healthcare data structures
  • Proficiency with a business intelligence or visualization tool
  • Understanding of clinical and revenue cycle terminology
  • Rigour about measure definitions and denominators
  • Ability to validate findings with clinical colleagues
  • Clear presentation of analysis to non technical audiences
  • Understanding of PHI handling and minimum necessary principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with quality reporting programs
  • Familiarity with claims or clinical registry data
