Trade Support Analyst Job Description Template

The trade support analyst keeps the flow of trades moving correctly from execution through to settlement, and is the first point of contact when something does not match. Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the trading desk with booking, allocation and amendment of trades
  • Resolve trade breaks and mismatches with brokers in real time
  • Monitor trade capture across systems and correct exceptions
  • Manage allocations across funds and accounts accurately
  • Support give up, clearing and prime broker instructions
  • Track settlement status and escalate failing trades
  • Maintain counterparty and account static data used in booking
  • Provide the desk with intraday position and exposure information
  • Document recurring issues and push for fixes at source
  • Support month end and audit requests relating to trade records

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 1+ years of trade support or operations experience
  • Understanding of trade booking, allocation and give up processes
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly under time pressure
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Clear, direct communication with traders and brokers
  • Accuracy in a fast moving environment
  • Familiarity with order management systems
  • Willingness to escalate early

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to listed derivatives or over the counter products
  • Knowledge of FIX and electronic trade flow
