The front end web3 developer owns the interface between people and the protocol. The job is harder than conventional front end work because every action costs money, cannot be undone and may fail for reasons the user does not understand. Getting the interface right is a genuine risk control, since most user losses in this industry begin with somebody approving a transaction they did not comprehend.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Build responsive interfaces for interacting with smart contracts
- Implement wallet connection and account state management
- Design clear transaction confirmation and status flows
- Communicate gas costs, slippage and approval scope plainly
- Handle pending, failed and replaced transactions gracefully
- Display on chain data accurately with appropriate loading and error states
- Ensure interfaces work across wallets and networks
- Optimize front end performance against slow RPC responses
- Implement accessibility standards across the application
- Work with design and contract engineers on interaction patterns
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of front end development including web3 applications
- Expert React or a comparable framework, with TypeScript

- Solid state management for asynchronous, failure prone operations

- Testing practice covering wallet and transaction flows
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with account abstraction wallets
