The Solidity developer writes the smart contracts that hold and move value on Ethereum and compatible chains. The discipline is unusual in software because deployed code is often immutable and always public, so a mistake is permanent and anyone can find it. Good candidates think in terms of adversaries rather than users, and they treat gas efficiency and test coverage as part of correctness rather than as optimizations to add later.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement smart contracts in Solidity
• Write comprehensive unit, integration and fuzz tests for contract logic
• Optimize contracts for gas consumption without compromising clarity
• Implement upgrade patterns and access control where the design requires them
• Review contracts written by other engineers with an adversarial mindset
• Prepare contracts and documentation for third party audit
• Remediate audit findings and verify the fixes
• Deploy and verify contracts across testnets and mainnet
• Integrate contracts with front ends, indexers and off chain services
• Monitor deployed contracts and respond to unexpected on chain behavior

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Required Skills and Experience

• 2+ years writing production Solidity that has held real value
• Deep understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine and gas mechanics
• Knowledge of common vulnerability classes including reentrancy and oracle manipulation
• Experience with Foundry or Hardhat and a rigorous testing practice
• Familiarity with established standards such as ERC-20, ERC-721 and ERC-4626
• Understanding of upgrade proxies and their risks
• Ability to read and reason about other people’s contract code
• Public repositories or deployed contracts that can be reviewed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience through a formal third party audit
• Knowledge of formal verification or symbolic execution tools
