The web3 quality assurance engineer tests systems where a defect can cost users money permanently. The work covers contract behavior, application flows, wallet interaction and the awkward states that only occur on chain, such as a transaction that succeeds but does something unintended. Testing here is closer to security work than to conventional quality assurance.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans across contracts and applications
• Test transaction flows across multiple wallets and networks
• Build automated tests against forked mainnet state
• Test failure, revert and edge case behavior deliberately
• Verify gas costs and their communication to users
• Test multi chain behavior and network switching
• Reproduce and document defects precisely for engineers
• Validate contract behavior against its specification
• Support release verification and post deployment checks
• Maintain the regression suite as the protocol evolves

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience

Required Skills and Experience

• 2+ years in quality assurance including web3 applications
• Understanding of smart contracts, transactions and wallet mechanics
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
• Ability to test against forked chain state
• Familiarity with Foundry, Hardhat or comparable tooling
• Precise defect reporting with reliable reproduction steps
• Adversarial approach to finding edge cases
• Understanding of what a financial defect costs

Preferred Qualifications

• Scripting ability in TypeScript or Solidity for test tooling
• Security testing background
