Azure DevOps Engineer Job Description Template

We are seeking a highly motivated Azure DevOps Engineer to join our team. A successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to think strategically and be innovative while working in an agile and collaborative team-oriented environment. The candidate must be comfortable working with analysts, developers and architects across multiple teams to collaboratively design creative solutions to complex problems. We are looking for someone who has some middleware or Azure DevOps experience and a demonstrated ability to keep up with an ever-changing technical environment.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, configure, deploy, administer and upgrade software components
• Ensure system and infrastructure availability, stability, scalability and performance
• Investigate issues and respond to customer queries and issues
• Provide daily support and perform administration, configuration and maintenance tasks for MFT
• Manage code deployments, fixes, updates and related processes
• Provide support to ensure that the MFT infrastructure is kept up to date

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience administering applications servers and web servers on Azure IaaS
• Experience in Azure DevOps Agile/Kanban practice
• Experienced in secure file transfers, file transfer protocols and file encryption
• Experience in application or web servers such as IIS or Tomcat
• Experience configuring infrastructure for high availability, troubleshooting issues within middleware space and tuning Internet/Intranet Web Applications to improve performance and stability
• Familiarity with VB script, PowerShell or other scripting
• Ability to write, use and update scripts to automate daily operations
• Flexibility to support and manage a dynamic 24/7 production as well as the other testing environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in supporting large scale middleware infrastructure with a full understanding of software SDLC
• Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Agile, Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.
• Experience in Splunk monitoring
• Experience with Linux servers 
• Ability to troubleshoot issues outside of middleware spaces (OS, Network, Database)
• Experience with BMC remedy and service manager for ticketing and change management
