Our company is looking for a Systems Administrator to maintain, manage, and upgrade our software, hardware, and networks. The ultimate goal of this role will be to ensure our technology infrastructure is smooth and efficient. To accomplish this, they will build solutions, implement new software and hardware, protect our critical systems, and assist with developing the overall IT strategy. Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Configure the networked computer system
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, software, and hardware
- Set up accounts and workstations
- Perform server administration tasks, research event-log warnings and errors, and monitor resources
- Monitor system performance
- Respond to hardware issues as they arise
- Replace and upgrade defective or outdated components
- Monitor data center health
- Ensure data is stored securely and backed up regularly
- Build, test, and maintain new servers
- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements
- Assist IT teams with troubleshooting and provide technical support as needed
- Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups
- Research and recommend new approaches to improve the networked computer system
- Document any processes that employees need to follow to successfully work with our computing system
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information technology, or a related field
- Microsoft MCSE certification or similar
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience as a systems administrator, network administrator, or similar role
- Experience with operating systems, programming languages, and system performance monitoring tools
- Experience in project management
- Experience in application design and integration
- Experience in cloud computing
- Experience analyzing and repairing large-scale distributed systems
- Experience with databases, networks, and patch management
- Knowledge of Unix systems administration
- Knowledge of SQL and database operations
- Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
