AWS Architect Job Description Template

We are hiring an AWS Architect to join our cloud practice area. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment using emerging technologies. The ideal candidate is eager to learn about the latest technical solutions and systems as they develop, and has the flexibility and broad skill set to carry out a range of responsibilities, from improving existing environments to planning and building new ones in coordination with clients or other members of the organization. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Support a scalable, secure, highly-available data lake in a complex environment
• Participate in design and automation of cloud solutions
• Devise enterprise strategies around containerization, serverless and API management
• Define and document cloud solution architecture(s) including technical designs and diagrams
• Build and deploy production systems in AWS
• Design enterprise cloud technical strategy
• Understand and champion cloud lifecycle management
• Architect and develop working demonstrations and proofs of concepts in AWS
• Acting as the primary technical contact on cloud related engagements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years of experience developing in AWS
• Hands-on experience in AWS provisioning
• Experience building and supporting cloud datalake
• Experience with Jenkins or Maven, Git/version control and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience with event-driven architectures and RESTful API design
• Experience with Disaster Recovery Plans in cloud environment
• Strong understanding of Cloud-based application deployment architectures
• Familiar with data structures, schemas and infrastructure
• Excellent leadership, peer management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate or Professional
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
