We are looking for a skilled AWS Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will work closely with enterprise IT, delivery, and other area partners to create, deploy, and maintain solutions in a cloud environment. The ideal candidate should be passionate about problem solving and have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as a thorough understanding of core AWS services.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement components offered by AWS
- Maintain cloud components to maximize their performance and minimize costs
- Serve as a cloud security and engineering consultant to ensure project teams comply with industry regulations, IT security policies, and best practices
- Evaluate new cloud solutions based on the business needs and standards
- Deploy, maintain, and support systems and network appliances
- Configure and automate applications in AWS
- Develop and maintain APIs and services
- Identify areas for improvement in the current application infrastructure and opportunities for cloud migration
- Ensure all components are adequately monitored and logged to prevent outages
- Maintain documentation for cloud services that are being used
- Research and provide feedback on new AWS services and solutions
- Write infrastructure as code
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field
Required Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of experience in information, network, or system security
- 4+ years of experience in a security engineering or architecture role within cloud and multiplatform environments
- 3+ years of experience with security issues and techniques across cloud and AWS environments
- 3+ years of experience in system or networking administration, programming, or architecture
- Experience with core AWS services
- Experience in Linux/Unix administration
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or the ELK stack
- Experience building or maintaining cloud-native applications
- Experience in agile methodologies and practices
- Proficiency in Java and/or Python
- Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with serverless approaches using AWS Lambda
- AWS Certification
