Cloud Administrator Job Description Template

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Administrator to join our team. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, validation, and continuing maintenance of all assigned systems and procedures. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and able to operate independently, as well as cooperating across teams in a fast-paced atmosphere with several concurrent projects. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize all assigned on-premises and cloud resources
  • Construct and maintain scripts (mainly PowerShell) to facilitate user account provisioning and ensure scripts adhere to industry standards
  • Create and update scripts for deploying and removing AWS cloud environments and resources
  • Closely collaborate with the Network, DevOps, and Security teams to guarantee compliance with standards and procedures
  • Implement scalability techniques for scaling up and scaling down while ensuring security procedures are adhered to
  • Mentor other peers and junior employees regarding cloud architecture and best practices
  • Identify, recommend, coordinate, and implement cost optimization possibilities for cloud resources and other managed SaaS systems that have been approved

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, electronics, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS platform tools and services
  • Proven ability to develop and debug scripts for user onboarding and provisioning, O365 resource provisioning, and Intune/Kandji endpoint installation.
  • Familiarity with both AWS automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) and Microsoft technologies (AADC, GPO, Azure, Azure MFA, O365, Exchange, Mail Relay, Sites and Services, Extended attributes, etc.)
  • Experience with system management, SNS, R53, VPC, EC2, ELB, EBS, ALB, Global Accelerator, Certificate manager, RDS, FSX, CloudTrail, Lambda, S3, IAM, and Workspaces, as well as AWS organizational account best practices
  • One or more years of expertise developing SAML integrations in Azure to facilitate SSO-based authentication
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for HTTP response codes, SSO/SAML/SCIM, LDAP, DNS, and email routing/tracing, as well as the ability to maintain security compliance through coordinated Windows and Linux application and system patching
  • Administration experience with enterprise platforms such as Slack, Box, Zoom, Confluence, Veeam, and VMware.
  • Capability to provide after-hours support to identify and resolve issues relating to accessing corporate IT-managed resources
  • Capability to design and implement dependable and scalable solutions to meet desired functionality, as well as to establish and manage all continuity requirements to support disaster recovery
