We are seeking a cloud computing engineer to join our engineering team. This role will collaborate with other members of the IT team to implement, optimize, and maintain our organization’s cloud-based systems and meet the needs of our company and clients. The ideal candidate should have expertise in the strategy, design, development, and implementation of cloud-based projects on a large scale, as well as an understanding of emerging cloud-based platforms, applications, and technologies.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement cloud-based systems and cloud solutions in accordance with industry and company best practices
- Manage cloud environments to ensure their security and functionality
- Collaborate with engineering team members to identify and implement cloud-based solutions
- Assist in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for cloud-based solutions, including requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
- Ensure the efficiency, functionality, and security of data storage and process functions
- Identify and address issues with application deployment or infrastructure vulnerabilities
- Review existing cloud systems to identify areas for improvement
- Define the best practices and strategies for application deployment and provide documentation of infrastructure maintenance
- Educate business teams on the implementation of new cloud initiatives and technology
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or a related field
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of experience with the design, development, or implementation of cloud solutions
- Experience in database architecture, business intelligence, ETL, and/or data analytics
- Experience with SysOps
- Experience with CI/CD systems
- Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Azure, AWS, and/or GCP
