Google Cloud Architect Job Description Template

We are seeking a technology leader who has the capability to transform how our organization utilizes the cloud as our new Google Cloud Architect. In this role, you will lead a team focused on Google Cloud architecture and assisting customers in pivoting their existing data center solutions to the Google Cloud Platform. Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the organization’s cloud computing strategy, including adoption plans, management, and monitoring
• Serve as a technical advisor for customers with complex cloud infrastructure and networking challenges
• Develop and communicate best practices for cloud-based solutions
• Design cloud environments with a focus on Azure and AWS
• Plan, design, and deploy complex application workloads on the Google Cloud platform
• Architect backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Create reference architectures and technical collateral
• Provide hands-on leadership for cloud migration and adoption from inception to production
• Develop enterprise cloud guidelines and automation in compliance with business needs and security best practices
• Provide mentorship and guidance to implementation teams responsible for delivering and deploying designed architecture

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics, information systems, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of experience in an IT role
• 5+ years of experience with cloud solutions
• Experience leading large-scale network migrations to the Google Cloud Platform
• Experience establishing enterprise-level technical strategy and architecture
• Experience with scalable networking design, including high availability, redundancy, fail-over, and load balancing
• Experience with at least one third-party networking product
• Experience leading cloud project delivery
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform services such as Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, and/or Cloud Interconnect
• Knowledge of networking protocols (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, etc.)
• Knowledge of cloud technologies like GCP, API Management, Identity Management, and/or VMware
• Knowledge of segmentation, encryption, logging, monitoring, and other network security design principles
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts for a non-technical audience

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect certification
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or Certified DevOps Engineer certification
