NLP Data Scientist Job Description Template

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Natural Language Processing (NLP) Data Scientist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role will be designing and implementing NLP models and algorithms. The ideal candidate should have experience developing NLP models with transformer architecture and expertise in transforming high volumes of data into advanced analytic solutions. Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement NLP solutions for text classification, sentiment analysis, and named entity recognition
  • Collaborate with data engineers and cross-functional teams to deploy NLP models into production environments and optimize NLP solutions
  • Analyze large datasets and provide insights to improve operations
  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis and identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for NLP models and algorithms
  • Participate in code reviews and QA processes
  • Select features, build, and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Enhance data collection procedures to include information relevant to building analytic systems
  • Create automated anomaly detection systems 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in NLP or a related field
  • Experience developing NLP models with transformer architecture
  • Experience collecting, developing, and maintaining structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting
  • Experience programming in Python or Java
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, or Keras
  • Experience with NLP libraries such as NLTK, Gensim, or Spacy
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud or AWS
  • Experience creating reports, projections, models, and presentations
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, data modeling, ETL, data pipeline, log gathering, and visualization
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in NLP or a quantitative discipline such as computer science or statistics
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
