We are in need of an experienced Statistician who can help us make more informed decisions and improve our organization through data analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large data sets and identifying trends and patterns and be able to communicate these findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and update databases using statistical programs such as SAS, SPSS, or Stata
- Perform statistical analysis of data and develop reports based on that analysis
- Analyze data using statistical techniques, formulas, and calculations
- Perform tests to ensure the reliability of results
- Work with other teams within the company to gather and analyze data from processes and customer interactions
- Perform rigorous cleaning, error checking, and validation to ensure data integrity
- Identify industry trends and utilize them in strategic planning and forecasting
- Report statistical findings to leadership and other teams in the form of charts, tables, graphs, and executive summaries
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in statistic, mathematics, engineering, or a related field
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience using statistical software and methods
- Proficiency in statistical programs such as SPSS or R
- Experience summarizing and presenting statistical findings
- Knowledge of statistical methods, formulas, techniques, and tests
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze data
- Strong mathematical abilities, including probability, calculus, and linear algebra
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
