The Data Analytics Manager is responsible for influencing business strategy through data and analytics. The position is also responsible for anticipating changes and leading innovative data and analytics solutions to drive business results, as well as coaching and developing a team of managers and/or professionals. The manager is also a key driver in identifying and implementing process improvements that increase efficiency and quality while effectively allocating the project budget.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Define the company’s multi-year data strategy, enabling key stakeholders to conduct analysis, make strategic decisions and effectively monitor results
- Partner with business teams on multi-track projects and/or programs to support high quality deliverables, performance expectations, risk mitigation, and process development
- Collaborate across teams to understand key business needs and collectively align on the technical capabilities needed to meet them
- Ensure that all commercial data solutions are in compliance with the enterprise’s target state architecture
- Serve as liaison with internal and external partners for critical strategic work, identifying and resolving issues that impact the quality and timely implementation of projects and initiatives
- Oversee team of employees, utilizing data analytics expertise to coach and develop managers and professionals on the data analytics team
- Serve as a data subject matter expert across the organization, maintaining a prioritized backlog of data needs for key transformational strategic programs
- Improve the governance, quality and reliability of all enterprise data
- Develop and deliver communications for complex technical projects to non-technical audiences
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Statistics, Finance, Business, Economics, IT or related field, or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Experience
- 7 years’ of data and analytics experience
- 5+ years’ of insurance experience
- 5+ years of experience using data analytics to provide insights and intelligence with visualizations and storytelling
- Experience with Tableau
- Experience with machine learning approaches to predictive and prescriptive analytics
- Experience in programming languages, including but not limited to SQL, Python, and R
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Data Studio and/or Looker
