Director of Marketing Job Description Template

The director of digital marketing will direct digital strategy, management, and procedures. This includes all elements of our digital ecosystem, including websites, digital marketing (PPC, SEO, Display, Re-targeting, Paid Social), owned social, marketing automation/sales automation initiatives, and account-based marketing. In order to develop and implement digital initiatives, this function will rely on both internal and external resources. The competent leader will be in charge of evaluating and improving each program’s success, as well as supporting the PX (provider experience), CX (client experience) and product marketing teams. This individual will oversee digital strategy and direction using a digital roadmap. The secret to success will be team leadership experience.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize all digital marketing initiatives, such as SEO, owned social, and paid digital media
  • Oversee strategy, user experience, content, hosting, and performance of the website
  • Create, optimize, and automate an integrated sales and marketing framework using marketing automation and sales automation tools in collaboration with sales
  • Build a framework to delight clients and suppliers through communication updates and useful content in collaboration with client experience and provider experience teams
  • Oversee timelines and deliverables for digital project management
  • Oversee the hiring of digital marketing personnel and offer continuing team development and direction
  • Locate digital partners and settle contracts
  • Discuss goals and digital strategies with internal department leaders and personnel
  • Oversee and utilize client-centered portals (therapy, payer, etc.)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital media or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior position in the digital space
  • Experience with digital lead creation, social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization
  • Working knowledge of website metrics and best practices
  • Ability to set marketing goals with colleagues at all levels and assess results
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create and maintain budgets
  • Knowledge of digital analytics software
  • Knowledge of all major social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.
  • Knowledge of B2B and B2C marketing and martech trends and developments
