Marketing Automation Consultant Job Description Template

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Automation Consultant to support the planning and execution of successful marketing automation activities within our business. In this role, you’ll help to evaluate, manage, and improve our marketing automation ROI, lead acquisition and nurturing, and marketing software solutions. This is the ideal role for someone who is analytical and results-oriented with a proven ability to derive clear, usable insights from complex data. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement marketing initiatives across distribution channels in accordance with business goals
  • Utilize a marketing automation tool to carry out routine email marketing tasks
  • Troubleshoot technical problems with list segmentation, HTML templates, and other aspects of email execution
  • Work together with design and marketing teams to produce top-performing email communications and boost open and click-through rates
  • Test, evaluate, and improve campaigns continuously using a variety of methods, including as A/B testing, personalisation, creative, timing, and targeting
  • Work with the sales team to convey the marketing programs’ goals and ensure successful campaign follow-up
  • Follow-up on and evaluate marketing program data (responses, leads, conversion rates, ROI, etc.) to assess success and inform future campaigns
  • Manage allocated marketing initiatives from beginning to end

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience operating in a digital marketing environment 
  • Experience with Eloqua, HTML, and the whole Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of email experience creation, planning, and testing
  • Proven experience with Salesforce integration, and other third party, cloud-based tools such as Zapier, etc.
  • Experience in HubSpot and/or other marketing automation tools such as Pardot or Marketo
  • Expertise in marketing automation processes including lead management and campaign management
  • Understanding of marketing and sales processes and lifecycles
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities with experience working in interdisciplinary groups
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized
