MarTech Business Analyst Job Description Template

The MarTech Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the product management lifecycle for our marketing portfolio. They will work closely with product owners to develop frictionless customer experiences that leverage technology to better market to and communicate with our customers, supporting the end goal of making both customers’ and team members’ life simpler. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who learns new tools and systems with minimal guidance and independently looks for new and better ways of doing things. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily standups and sprint planning and provide updates and input
  • Gather input on the user experience and document current processes to determine potential improvements
  • Gather and analyze business requirements for marketing products
  • Contribute to feature mapping
  • Partner with development teams to verify that marketing product meet the needs of customers
  • Assist with gathering requirements and writing user stories for MarTech products
  • Build and maintain a prioritized product backlog 
  • Develop and refine marketing dashboard concepts
  • Identify and monitor user stories
  • Perform ad-hoc analytics periodic audits, and custom analysis
  • Audit analytics configurations, including goals, events, and campaign tracking, and recommend improvements
  • Identify new sources of data and reporting functionalities
  • Monitor results and feedback from product launches
  • Act on feedback to resolve issues and support problem resolution 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in online or digital companies handling and analyzing large data sets
  • Experience in marketing and/or product management
  • Experience with data analysis and mapping 
  • Experience with user-centered design
  • Experience in statistical model building
  • Experience in SQL querying
  • Experience with statistical software packages
  • Experience conducting market research and/or multi-channel marketing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and practices
  • Strong documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with online advertising platforms such as AdWords, Facebook, and DoubleClick
