MarTech Consultant Job Description Template

The MarTech Consultant works with the marketing team to create and deliver data-driven, integrated customer experiences inside the marketing technology stack. This job will collaborate with key stakeholders, utilizing their persuasive abilities to advocate for changes in the direction of marketing technology used across the business. A successful applicant will know how to use the available platforms and solutions for CDP, CMS, marketing automation, digital, sales and service, onboarding, case management, CX, CEM, CRM, and customization, and be capable of successfully integrating solutions with other corporate and third-party systems.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement marketing automation programs and campaigns
  • Analyze the current marketing technology from a people, process, and system perspective, and deliver strategic insights based on this analysis to key stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into marketing solutions that make the best use of our digital platform capabilities
  • Suggest solutions to optimize the use of marketing technology 
  • Design, scope, and specify martech projects
  • Construct models and frameworks to simplify and structure complex situations
  • Oversee lead engagement strategies, including lead nurturing, lead scoring, and multi-channel strategy
  • Manage the delivery of custom solutions, interfaces, and integrations
  • Stay informed about new techniques and technologies by reading about them and conducting research

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, computer science, information systems, or a closely related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience with marketing technology 
  • Knowledge of marketing, technological platforms, key IT initiatives, and enterprise- and inter-enterprise-level systems integration
  • Understanding of Alteryx or other data platform tools for marketing automation and operations
  • Experience using SQL and database foundations for data management
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, information analysis, and decision-making skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Proven capacity for productive collaboration with peers and management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CDPs
  • Expertise in API integration and ETL
  • Certifications for Salesforce.com Marketing Cloud
