Media Analyst Job Description Template

In this Media Analyst position, your duties will include evaluating the success of numerous digital media campaigns, developing optimization insights that will guide digital media buyers’ decisions, and working with a variety of partners and stakeholders to keep accurate records of data requirements and digital tracking. A successful applicant should have knowledge of the techniques used in econometric modeling and how to apply models to measure marketing effectiveness and maximize spending.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Examine the results of several digital media initiatives to find areas that need improvement
  • Determine data needs, data collection techniques, and best practices with partners to ensure reliable data monitoring
  • Determine the strategic direction of digital media
  • Work with stakeholders to present information in a clear, digestible, and visually appealing style
  • Create and enhance automated dashboards and reports to track and convey performance

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, economics, marketing, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a media analytics position
  • Knowledge of database languages such as SQL
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker)
  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, R, Python
  • Proficiency with Met, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, TikTok or other social media platforms
  • Proficiency with emerging and leading programmatic DSPs (TTD, DV360, Yahoo, etc.)
