Social Media Buyer Job Description Template

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement social media campaign buys to achieve marketing goals
  • Build and execute social media advertising funnels
  • Conduct competitive analysis
  • Identify and monitor media trends in the social space
  • Assist with the execution of global media plans
  • Provide expert advice as it relates to paid social, with a consideration for local nuances
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with platform reps
  • Proofread and quality check media documents, including campaign launch documents, QA checklists, and budget trackers, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience running paid campaigns on social channels
  • 2+ years of experience buying media on social platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and X
  • Experience in multiple Facebook ad accounts
  • Experience with Excel, including PivotTables and VLookups
  • Proficient with Facebook business manager, Instagram, TikTok for business, LinkedIn, and other social media channels
  • Technical knowledge of social platform reporting tools, pixels, APIs, and attribution
  • Thorough understanding of the DTC marketplace
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills

  • Experience with Reddit, StackOverflow, and other online communities
  • Experience working in a B2B company
