Solutions Architect Job Description Template

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to implement systems architecture that will help solve our organization’s network problems. This role will work with organization leadership and the IT team to identify and address problems using innovative software solutions. In addition to developing solution designs, this position will provide technical guidance throughout the delivery life cycle, with a focus on developing and maintaining the core application architecture. A successful candidate should demonstrate skill in identifying pain points and designing or modifying technical solutions for them.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, modify, and test technical architecture
• Design solutions throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide supervision and guidance to development teams
• Update stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets, and inform them of any issues with the current technical solutions being implemented
• Engage with IT and business leaders to ensure solutions comply with standards and policies and address operational stability requirements
• Implement technical solutions to streamline workflows and drive organization-wide process optimization
• Develop and review code
• Perform unit testing
• Write documentation
• Research emerging technologies and propose changes where needed

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• Experience with IT architecture methodologies
• Experience integrating analytical information 
• Experience working with various infrastructure platforms
• Knowledge of process optimization and deployment
• Knowledge of coding languages, operating systems and databases
