We are looking for an experienced Blockchain Engineer to oversee the design, implementation, and support of our distributed blockchain-based network. This role will be responsible for analyzing our organization’s blockchain needs, designing customized blockchain technology around our business model, and building and maintaining our blockchain network. To succeed in this role, you should have extensive knowledge of programming languages and experience in cryptography, as well as the ability to translate that expertise into fast, secure, and efficient digital transactions.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and test blockchain technologies
- Collaborate with leadership to determine our future blockchain needs
- Brainstorm applications for new tools and technologies as they emerge
- Create features and interfaces by using programming languages and writing multithreaded codes
- Maintain and extend client- and server-side applications
- Apply cryptology techniques to protect digital transaction data
- Integrate new tools and technologies to optimize and secure blockchain applications
- Create documentation for new applications and maintain documentation for our existing blockchain network
- Educate other team members on blockchain features
- Stay up-to-date on the current blockchain technologies and cryptography methods
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field
Required Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of experience as a blockchain developer
- Experience in back-end development, algorithms, and data structures
- Experience working with large codebases and open-source projects
- Experience working on platforms such as Quorum, Ethereum, or Hyperledger
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, and Python
- Knowledge of cryptography and blockchain protocols
- Knowledge of best practices in blockchain management and data protection
- Knowledge of P2P networks
- Knowledge of Bitcoin-like blockchains
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with API integration of 3rd-party applications
- Relevant professional certifications, such as Certified Blockchain Developer
