IT Director – Municipal Library District in Colorado

The Client

Headquartered in Colorado, our client is a municipal public library district that serves more than 150,000 residents with 12 individual library locations.

The Challenge

Our client was looking to backfill their IT Director role but wanted a completely different skill set and personality than the outgoing IT Director. They knew their IT environment had grown stale and outdated and needed a candidate that would bring new energy to the team, would still be hands on with infrastructure technologies and could build out a multi-year roadmap to upgrade and bring their technical environment up to the digital era. Additionally, with the organization being a publicly funded library district, their salary budget was fairly limited which posed a challenge in itself.

The Result

Our team quickly developed the ideal profile for a candidate to target in our search. We contacted more than 250 candidates and narrowed them down to the best three candidates that had great leadership skills, technical competencies and also the drive needed to invigorate this IT program. Our client interviewed all three candidates and considered two so strong that they had difficulty deciding between the two. Our client offered one of our candidates just four weeks after we began work on the role and now that individual is successfully helping to build out their revamped IT environment.
