About nexus IT group
nexus IT group was created to revolutionize the IT staffing industry by providing a client and candidate experience that is unmatched in the staffing industry. The concept of staffing has been around for decades, so when we identified a way to innovate within a 100 plus year old industry you can imagine our excitement to launch nexus IT group.
With zero clients and zero outside investors we are very proud to be able to bootstrap our startup. In the beginning we launched nexus IT group out of the basement of our founders home, and quickly grew out of that space.
Due to our growth we’re in our 3rd headquarters office in Kansas City and provide IT staffing solutions in 15 states around the US.
A big part of our mission which has driven our success is the culture that we’ve created at nexus IT group.
Our industry is traditionally very conservative in nature so in 2010, we disrupted the work place by providing standing desks, 3 monitors, an open workspace (no offices), no hierarchies, onsite wet bar, foosball table, TVs, Pop -A-Shot, collaboration space, wellness program, indoor putting green, covered outdoor space, onsite BBQ grill, massage chair, and ergonomic workstations.

I consider myself extremely lucky to work in an office which encourages individuality, autonomy, flexibility and empathy in regards to work/life balance, and we have lots of fun.
Yes, we have foosball games, beer pong, cornhole, and a putting green, more importantly, our company fosters an environment that puts power into the hands of every employee. From day one your ideas and suggestions are taken seriously and implemented through the use of our “Think Tank Sessions”. You immediately make an impact and contribute to the team from your first day and are quickly given the ability to move up in the company.
The environment is very unique in that there are no hierarchies – everyone works together towards a common goal rather than striving only for individual goals. Describing the communication within the company as “open door” would be an understatement; the most senior individuals sit together with the newest additions to the team and work hand-in-hand on a daily basis.
The culture of the company is so unique and special that it’s hard to truly explain. Sure, in every office co-workers go through the monotonous small talk at the water cooler or the passing “hello” on the way to the break room. At nexus IT group we have built a close knit team that enjoys lunch together every day, weekly happy hours and nights out together.
Finally, having a round of drinks every Friday is just the icing on the cake for our team to conclude another successful week with a great group of…employees…co-workers…friends.
