The C++ quant developer writes the performance critical parts of the trading stack, where microseconds and memory behavior genuinely matter. The work covers pricing libraries, execution components, market data handlers and the numerical code underneath them. It is a role for people who understand what the compiler and the hardware are actually doing, and who test accordingly.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain performance critical C++ components of the trading system
- Implement pricing and risk models in production quality code
- Build market data handlers and normalization layers
- Profile and optimize for latency, throughput and memory behavior
- Write comprehensive tests including numerical accuracy checks
- Work with researchers to productionise models correctly
- Investigate and fix production defects in live trading components
- Maintain build systems, dependencies and deployment pipelines
- Review code with attention to correctness and performance
- Document design decisions and performance characteristics
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics
Required Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of professional C++ development, including modern standards
- Strong understanding of memory management, cache behavior and concurrency
- Experience profiling and optimizing latency sensitive code
- Solid numerical computing background
- Familiarity with Linux systems programming
- Rigorous testing and code review practice
- Ability to reason about correctness in concurrent code
- Experience in trading, market data or another low latency domain
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to kernel bypass networking or FPGA acceleration
- Knowledge of derivatives pricing libraries
